Location Notes, a program for the BlackBerry® Smartphone, allows
you to save GPS coordinates and notes or information about that place in a small database.
Location Notes includes the following features:
- Save notes and extended information along with GPS coordinates
- Sort list of notes by name, datestamp, or distance from current
location
- Import, Export, or send saved locations in GPX, or KML formats,
additionally import in LOC format
- Use KML format file attachment to explore your notes and results
in Google Earth
- Export saved notes to a BlackBerry memo
- Send individual saved notes via e-mail
- View/Map saved coordinates in Google or BlackBerry Maps
- Pick your new coordinates from a map using BlackBerry Maps
- Use "mark" and "selection" to measure the distance and bearing between
any two locations you have saved.
- Edit coordinates as decimal degrees, degrees and minutes, or
degrees, minutes and seconds.
- Edit alititude as meters or feet
- Convert Latitude/Longitude coordinates to Universal Transverse
Mercator (UTM) coordinates
- Works with both internal GPS sensors, and external Bluetooth GPS
devices such as the GlobalSat BT-359

There an
OTA download specifically for
BlackBerry devices running OS5 or higher, and
Desktop download for those
same devices.
Smartphone System Requirements:
- Handheld Device OS 5.0 or 6.0
- BlackBerry Maps required.
There is also an
OTA download specifically for the BlackBerry Storm, and Desktop download for the
Storm
running device OS 4.7.x.x.
Requirements For the Storm:
- Handheld Device OS 4.7 or higher
- BlackBerry Maps required.
Finally, there is an OTA download for
BlackBerry smartphones running OS4.2.1 or higher.
A Desktop download is also available.

OS5 devices will see Satellite count as location fix is being aquired, this
can be helpful in determining if your location is sufficently open for valid
coordinates from the GPS.
Added support for importing and exporting, and emailing GPX, and KML formats,
also import support for LOC format.
added BlackBerry Maps based location picker. Requires OS4.7 or better,
and BlackBerry Maps.
Added "Mark" and "Selection Info" to get information about distance and

The trial counts the number of location saves or updates performed. If you want to
continue using it past the trial period (five saves), please buy the license key for only $2.99.
(Checking the operation of the GPS does not count against the trial use.)
Don't forget to provide the PIN number for your BlackBerry smartphone in
the "Instructions to Merchant". Your BlackBerry PIN is an
eight digit hexadecimal number, such as: 32b1f483.
Use Alt+Cap+H to find your PIN number if you don't already know it.
